Welcome to your first newsletter from Funding101.org
We are here to help you achieve!
We look forward to making our newsletter the one e-mail you look forward to
opening each week because it is filled with helpful tips to make you more
Quote # 1 for the week: You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after
it with a club. Frank Talbot.
Our single goal is to help YOU learn techniques to run your nonprofit better
so you can continue to expand the great work you already do.
The skills required to take your organization from where it is today to where
you want it to be are going to be easier than you think to learn and they
won't cost you a bucket full of money either! However, you have to agree to
invest in yourself and then take action. I'm including several tips in this
newsletter that will make you much more successful in your fund raising
efforts starting TODAY!
My goal is to bring you all the information you need to be as successful as
you want to be. We are already doing audio interviews with professional
event planners, media people, grant writers, business owners and much more.
I will bring you the best information from the best people and you
will get it right from the horse's mouth! In addition, I am putting together
audio and pdf training courses so you can select the topics you need help with
and focus on skill building in those areas. Be sure to whitelist our
firstname.lastname@example.org e-mail address so your newsletters don't end
up in your spam folder each week. if you need help learning how to do that,
We hosted our phone consultations last week with organizations around the
country. From that, we were able to determine the topics that are posing the
greatest challenges and we are feverishly developing training courses at
funding101.org that will guide you to success. Watch next
week's newsletter for updates on courses as they become available. Bonnie

Quote # 3 for the week: The reason most people never reach their goals is
that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or
Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the
way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.

Tip #1 for the week: Nonprofits automatically get four advantages over
other businesses that can easily put you ahead of the pack and if you aren't
capitalizing on all four, you are leaving money on the table.
1. You can offer your customers and donors a tax deduction,
2. The media loves nonprofit organizations and will give you free press,
3. As a nonprofit, you can have all of your event expenses paid up front,
4. As a nonprofit, you have amazing advantages at E-bay where you can join
their gifting program and have sellers select your organization for a donation
when they sell their goods on E-bay.

services from e-mailing services, web hosting companies and so much more!
All you have to do is know about them and then take ACTION!
Tip # 2 for the week: The quickest way to get business owners to donate to
you over and over again is to learn how to think like the business owner and
ask one simple question: What would I need to see, hear or read in order
for me to get excited about donating my time, money, services or goods
to your organization?
If you can think like a business owner, you are GOLD! Recognize that
businesses are not just giving you money, they are making an investment in
your business with money they could have spent advertising their own
business in the local paper.
As I pointed out in Tip # 1, you can offer that business owner several
bonuses that an ad in the local paper can't offer them, including:
1. Tax write-off,
2. Good will within their community, and
3. A ton of positive free press.
Here is a simple example: You would like to convince a local business to
donate $250.00 to your next event and traditionally, you would send them a
thank you note in exchange for their donation.
However, what if you offered them, as a thank you for their donation:
1. Space on your website where you would add them to your sponsor page,
2. Include their company's name on your upcoming events page,
3. Include their company's name in all of your pre-event press releases,
4. Include their company's name in all of your event press,
5. Include their company's name in all of your post event press,
6. Include their company's name on all of your PSA's you will do with the
local radio stations and TV stations to promote your event, and
7. Thank them, by name, during the event over the P.A. system.
Guess how much all of that would cost you???? ZERO!
Guess what it is worth to the business owner???? PRICELESS!
In terms of dollars and cents, it is worth 10 X's the $250.00 donation.
If you agree to treat each of your sponsors with that level of respect and
gratitude, I promise you, they will be lining up to donate whatever you want.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are dozens of additional things you
can do for your sponsors, grant organizations and volunteers that I will share
with you in the new program, Making Profits for your Non-Profit. Click here
