In this week’s newsletter, I want to talk to you about:
* Grants and why they are so important,
* Taking action is a requirement for success,
* Money making opportunities for your organization.
Tip # 1 –Grants and why they are so important.  There is grant money to be had for educational purposes, building projects and so much more IFFFF you know where to look for it and are willing to saddle up on the learning curve to go after it.

“Grants" is a general term for the multitude of federal, state, local and corporate programs available to assist nonprofit groups, and community based organizations.  This assistance can take many forms, including direct funding, loans, surplus government equipment, and other resources.

Grants are not simply “free money”; each individual grant program has strict prerequisites and eligibility requirements that must be satisfied by your organization. Personally, I’m afraid that a lot of non profits don’t pursue grant opportunities because in order to do so, you have to first be crystal clear about what you want, how you are going to spend it and how you will be accountable for the money.  The greatest twp suggestions I can make to you in this week’s newsletter is; 1. that the same procedure you would follow to file for a grant is the SAME procedure you should be following in the running of your business everyday.  In other words, you should be crystal clear about where you are going, what you are going to do when you get there and how you will be held accountable for the outcome! 2. It is for this reason alone that I think every non profit should be researching and going after grant money every month.  I think it is a great exercise in learning how to run your business with clarity and the more clear you are about your business success, the more success you will have.
Tip #2 –Taking action is a requirement for success! – As the bible says, “Faith without works is dead”, the same is true for business success… great ideas without action is a sure fire recipe for failure. I suggest that every business I work with commit to doing at least two, action based, forward moving marketing things each day of the week, every week of the year. That is a sure fire recipe for success!
