The First Step in Building a Success Platform
If you are serious about growing your business (P.S. if you are a 501(C)3, you
are a corporate entity which means you are a business), you will need to agree
to find a balance between the time you spend working IN your business and
the time you spend working ON your business.
Here is a great example of what I am referring to; many years ago, I owned
and operated my own horse boarding/training facility in the Midwest. I was
certain that if I were the best teacher/trainer and caretaker for my customers,
the “REST” would take care of itself. I was working 15 hour days, 7 days a
week with my only day off on Christmas. The mistake I made was spending ALL
of my time working IN my business and spending virtually NONE of my time
working ON my business. One without the other is a ticket on the train to
disaster! You need to strike a balance between the two. If you hate handling
the business side of your business, focus your volunteer recruitment on finding
retired business/sales/marketing folks who love to do that type of work.

hours working ON your business. Get those in balance and you will quickly see
